Isaias tax relief: federal deadlines in 27 Florida counties move to Feb. 8
The IRS is postponing federal filing and payment deadlines in the 27 counties under the Isaias disaster declaration — most move to February 8, 2027, but the payroll deposit deadline stays at October 26.
- Covered: 27 counties, including Citrus, Levy, Dixie, and Taylor — the Panhandle plus the Nature Coast.
- Covers 2025 returns on extension, estimated payments, and quarterly payroll/excise returns due Nov. 2 and Feb. 1.
- Relief is automatic if your address of record is in a covered county — no call, no form.
- Payroll/excise deposits due Oct. 9-25 must be made by Oct. 26 or penalties stand; 2025 tax payments due last April don't move.
The IRS is postponing federal tax filing and payment deadlines for individuals and businesses in the 27 Florida counties covered by the Hurricane Isaias disaster declaration (FEMA 3655-EM). Deadlines that fell on or after October 9, 2026, and before February 8, 2027, are postponed to February 8, 2027 — including 2025 individual returns on extension, estimated tax payments, and quarterly payroll and certain excise returns normally due November 2, 2026, and February 1, 2027. The IRS applies the relief automatically to taxpayers with an address of record in a covered county.
Two things do not move. Payroll and excise tax deposits due between October 9 and October 25 are only penalty-free if made by October 26, 2026. And the postponement covers filing deadlines, not money already owed: tax payments tied to 2025 returns were due April 15, 2026, and are not eligible for this relief.
